So it’s 2016 and we’re still obsessed about having the perfect body. Our minds tend to get skewed when it comes to defining our body very much so that we start thinking insane things like, “we’re too fat, ugly, skinny.”
At what point did we let our body define who we are? At what point did we start caring so much about how our body looks that we start hurting it. We put our bodies through hell. We diet, workout, waist train, starve ourselves, get surgery, take diet pills, tan, the list goes on and on. We do all this stuff to our bodies and for what? Most people would say to get into that cute bikini, to get healthy or just for themselves which is great but is this all really necessary?
Answer is no but we are influenced by a greater power, the media. All around us we are constantly being bombarded by images of what the perfect female body should be. Social media plays a big part as well, there are so many ads on Instagram and Facebook promoting protein shakes, waist trainers, detox’s anything and everything they can do to get you to believe that if you use these products you will get the perfect body. Of course there is nothing wrong with trying to get fit and healthy but not at the cost of your health and happiness.
So what is the perfect body? The perfect body is you. Your body is the perfect body, all the things you see as imperfections all the things you want to change is what makes you the person you are. So why would you want to change that? Why would you want to change your image to look like everyone else? We are all made differently beautiful. Some of us our shorter, taller, wider, smaller, hairier, frecklier, some of us are just different. We are all beautiful in our own right.
So start loving yourself because your body is worthy of your love. You’re not imperfect you’re you and you is more than good enough. It’s time to pick up the pieces of your shattered self-image and start living.
In a world of Kim Kardashians be you.
